Annual Special Education Picnic and Auction

On October 1, 2006, the special education students and faculty from JMU met at the school farm for bidding, eating, and socializing. At the picnic, new students and faculty are given speducator caps as initiation into the program. It is an opportunity for students to intermingle across different cohorts and programs and a chance for faculty and students to interact in a relaxed, informal setting. Proceeds of this year's annual auction, which included JMU apparel, candles, and homemade salsa, will go to the Thanksgiving Hurricane Katrina Relief Trip in which many of our students and faculty are participating.
