Dr. Martha Ross
Professor of Education
B.A, M.S, Ph.D, Florida State University

Dr. Ross received all three of her degrees from Florida State University in early childhood/elementary education. In Florida she taught and was an administrator in preschool and child care centers. During her tenure at JMU, she has been a professor, department head, associate dean, NCATE Coordinator and served as the director of the University's SACS self-study. Her interests are in teacher education and supervision. Her children continue to be a source of joy and grey hair - Amanda is a senior at Harrisonburg High School and Ginny graduated from Mary Washington University and moved to Japan where she is teaching English. Martha is married to Dr. Jerry Benson, dean of CISAT, and they enjoy cooking, traveling and taking care of their historic house.
